Humboldt General Hospital's hospitalist program represents a quantum leap in service to our patients. Following are some of the many benefits this program offers our patients, our physicians, and our community.
Benefits to the Patient/Family:
1. A physician is in-house 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.
2. Increase in care provided locally (fewer transfers).
3. Physician available via cell phone to patient, family and staff.
4. Reduction in wait times from ER to acute.
5. Hospitalists assist and support local physicians with patient management.
Benefits to the Local Physician:
1. Enhanced productivity of clinic practice.
2. Elimination of "on-call" requirement.
3. Retention of patient's care in local community.
4. Reduction in non-paying patients.
5. Elimination of "unclaimed" patients.
6. Physician can still admit and care for his/her patients if he/she desires.
7. Co-management with hospitalist can also be accomplished.
