News and Information

Please Use Harmony Street Entrance. Humboldt General Hospital is asking all patients and visitors to begin using the Harmony Street entrance to the hospital until further notice. For now, construction traffic will mainly be using the Mizpah Street side of the hospital. Patients and visitors may continue to use the Mizpah Street entrance; however, the only parking available will be at the back of the ambulance station. Accordingly, we urge patients and visitors to instead choose to use the Harmony Street entrance where the lower parking lot is now open as well as parking in front of Harmony Manor. Please check signage carefully for patient and visitor parking as well as seven new handicap parking spaces. Also, once you park, please follow the arrows carefully to arrive at hospital and medical office entrances. For your safety, please stay out of construction areas. Thank you for your kind patience during this exciting time for Humboldt General Hospital. If you need special accommodations or have any issues related to your personal safety and convenience, please contact HGH Quality Management Director Andy Hum at (775) 623-5222, ext. 280.

Parking for Dr. Granath and Dr. Li. Parking for Dr. Granath and Dr. Li has now moved. Please use the Harmony Street lower parking lot to access those physician offices. Three handicap parking spaces are located at the back of Dr. Granath and Dr. Li's office building; wheelchair ramps are available for ease of access. If you need special accommodations or have any issues related to your personal safety and convenience, please contact HGH Quality Management Director Andy Hum at (775) 623-5222, ext. 280.

Time Capsule. Humboldt General Hospital will plan some wonderful and memorable festivities to celebrate the grand opening of its expanded campus in the fall of 2011. As part of those commemorations, hospital staff came up with the idea to fill a time capsule with memorabilia from 2011 and embed it in the construction, to be opened in 50 years-in the year 2061! Some of the ideas for items to be housed in that capsule include a current listing of gold prices, a vehicle brochure, a newspaper, a cellular phone, and photos of the hospital's current physicians, nurses and the operating room. The box will be small, but it will hopefully help those in five decades understand a bit more about our current hospital operation.

Local Photography/Art . Humboldt General Hospital is looking for photographs and artwork of Humboldt County, its landscapes and residents, for use in decorating its new medical office addition. If you are interested in submitting samples of your work for possible inclusion in the addition, please send up to two electronic examples of your work to nicole@hghospital.ws Please remember to include your contact information. All decisions regarding artwork will reside with the project's interior designers. Submissions will not be returned, so please do not send originals.

Handicapped Parking. We have received reports that some patients and/or visitors are parking in handicapped parking without the requisite authorization. Please respect these spaces so that those who have obtained valid authorization may use them. If you need wheelchair or other assistance to reach the hospital, please contact HGH Quality Management Director Andy Hum at (775) 623-5222, ext. 280.
